When EA reps announced they were going to be focusing on cellular for the NBA Live series, it was not that surprising. However, I was filled with quite a bit of hope that NBA Live Mobile will provide a new and interesting mobile sports gambling experience.

However, following a week together with the game, I can confidently say that if the future of gambling (and sports gambling) is on mobile, we've got a very long way to go. Gameplay
NBA Live Mobile has the typical mobile sports-sim experience with buttons associated with actions on the right along with a digital analog stick on the left side of the display. For whatever reason, this has become the default approach to control players in these kinds of games, but it does not mean it's simple or particularly fun to play.

With no buttons to push, which is a result more of the stage than of design, it becomes a research in focus to ensure that your fingers are in the ideal spot and ready to deliver the command that is perfect.

Things like shooting and passing desire a delay to ensure you are currently currently pushing the region of the screen and oftentimes this results in a fairly jerky sense to the flow of the game play. I am not certain if this could be remedied not in the current design.

The other issue with this form of controller is that it's remarkably simplistic. In NBA Live Mobile, you've got two buttons on defense: a guard button and a block button. On offense you've got shoot, pass and drive.

Do not get me wrong, anything more than this likely would bring about an impossible control situation, along with the Live Mobile group has done a decent job at establishing some layers of thickness.

While tapping on it tries a steal for example, holding down the shield button will result in you safeguarding your competitor. You hold down the push button and then slide your finger up to dunk or lay up the ball.

This is probably something which may be expanded while maintaining the front-end interface that is simple, to allow a deeper degree of control.

A enormous drawback of the gameplay is that the AI in the game doesn't really go beyond the fundamentals and is simplistic. Players don't go much from the ball and there is no method to call for something as basic as an option and roll.

In short, the foundation in Live Mobile is solid enough for a mobile game, but this by no means replaces your games experience. Modes
NBA Live Mobile is a sport built in the Ultimate Team notion, like the other EA Sports games.

You have live seasons, events, leagues and practice to participate in. All of this is achieved inside the Ultimate Team frame of earning points to buy cards to make your team better.

Obviously that's the extent of your expertise using Live Mobile, and in this point, you either love the Ultimate Team notion or you hate it -- and it's doubtful that your mind changes much from that. Final Thoughts
We have to remember the cost of entry into NBA Live Mobile is free, which means you can jump in and give the game a try without much skin in the sport.

The gameplay is typical for a sports gambling experience and simplistic since zero new floor only breaks. The Ultimate Team style is something that you've already made up your mind on, and there's no use in giving the sport a try as it will not change your mind, should youn't like it.

In general, if this is the future of sports gambling, I'm not particularly sure I'm a lover of it. The game itself is above average. NBA Live Mobile does all solid enough, and also the manners themselves seem to work without a lot of problem. The AI is dumb, but you will find there is a game here to be enjoyed if only for a while.

However, the expertise and prospects for the future leave me hoping for something completely different soon enough.
